Hopping Towards Easter with Free DIY Digital Printable Tags

We interrupt this blog post to bring you this alert:

I hope you are all warm, with electricity, calm, and safe during winter storm Uri or any wintry weather abroad.

Carry on!

The Valentine's decor is whisked away safely for another year. And, the Easter decorations are placed, with the exception of the cross stitch items I'm stitching up. They are in progress. Pinkeeps -- again!

Here are some thrifty tags to print out, turn into garlands, use in cabinet displays, etc. I always hang a few from the armoire latches and tuck them here and there in the house. Please use this LINK <--- so that you get the full, uncompressed file stored safely in the Google Cloud. If you save the image below, Google will have unfortunately compressed it and it won't print as nicely. I am stuck on using the musical tags as the base for seasonal tags lately. The very first tag I ever received was a musical tag, and I must have imprinted on it.

I am continuing to be a bit lean in decorating. I do have my eye on some orchard grass. I want to put heaps of it in baskets and make "nests" of it in boxes, and put some empty eggs in them. I have seen some very expensive orchard grass online in some prim shops, but I usually get the Oxbow brand dried orchard grass that is good for guinea pigs (which I used to rescue). It's much less expensive and looks just as primitive.

Anyone have any decorating plans they are putting into place for Easter? And what about your color scheme? Yes, Easter is most often pastels and white, yet...I don't know why, but I'm going for very dusty-looking pastels this year. Muted. Faded!

  1. Well, you put me to shame. Truth be told, if I look hard enough, I am certain I will still find remnants of Christmas here and there LOL. (Shhh...please don't share that LOL.) Seriously, it seems that each year, each holiday, I put less and less out and it becomes more and more difficult to get it put away. I guess I am losing my "spirit." I may bring out my antique bunny candy container collection as I just love those old German pieces. So, I guess that answers your question.....definitely drab and neutral colors for me. But faded works too. ;-) ~Robin~

    1. I have one pumpkin and several Christmas stickers at the bottom of the glass back door, put there to keep the doggies from thinking the door is open. I need to find spring ones!

    1. I think when it doesn't snow it can be even colder. Nothing to hold in the heat. Thank you, you stay warm, too!

  3. Dear Holly,

You are always such a busy bee.

Easter is the only occasion when we can be persuaded to 'decorate'. Many years ago now we bought some tiny painted wooden things which have become our Easter decorations. Hanging from branches of pussy willow, they look jolly and, as the pussy willow sprouts its fresh green leaves, there is something joyful about it all which reminds us of the rebirth and hope that comes from the Easter message. this year, it will, perhaps, have a renewed and more significant message.

We look forward to seeing your creations, always so imaginative and beautifully done.

    1. Your decorating sounds similar to mine, I don't have pussywillow but I get regular weeping willow branches that will put out leaves, and put them in a vase. I look forward to seeing your little wooden ornaments.

  4. Thank you for the printable tags, they are lovely. I like the old style. In Norway the color for Easter is yellow. We decorate with yellow flowers, yellow chickens, yellow candles. I know that in US is the Easter lily white, but the Norwegian Easter Lily - "PĂ„skelilje" - is yellow. PĂ„skelilje is the Norwegian name on daffodils. I think it has its origins in the fact that daffodils could begin to bloom at Easter time, at least if spring was early and Easter late.

    1. Thank you for sharing about Norway! I too love yellow for Easter! In fact, I am sewing a cross stitch design with yellow flowers and bunnies, for myself. It is indeed a spring color! The older I get, the more I like it, too!

  5. Easter is usually a very large family holiday for us. A gathering of about 30 of us with egg hunts for the kids and games for the adults with a big dinner. Last year we could not gather I am not sure what this year will bring but we will celebrate with our daughter and family. Easter decorations are some old German paper eggs and a couple of old sock bunnies. I will print these as I have some nice paper stock now and will make a garland to brighten up the place.
The sleet is tapping at the window right now I prefer snow if we are going to get a storm this time of year.
We are just fine woodstove happily humming along and the generator on standby if the lights should go out. We who live in the country are better equipped I think for storms.

    1. You are ready for any storm! I agree, here in the city we do not have the knowledge and sometimes the room to be better prepared, but we could do better! I should have gotten more firewood just in case of a storm, even though chimneys are not very good for heating. Most of the new houses have what I call "toy" fireplaces, so small they have to have specially cut wood. No use, really. I hope you will post photos of your German paper eggs and sock bunnies!

  9. Like you I put away all traces of Valentines and have taken out a few Easter things. Not much yet. Maybe I'll wait until the snow is all gone ( which shouldn't be long).
