Quick "BOO" Banner for You, A Treat, Not A Trick!

Hi friends. Just a quick post, to put up a little Hallowe'en Boo Banner.

So, here is a little free BOO banner you can print out. As always, use the link below, not the photo above. The bloggie file is shrunk by Google and won't print correctly. But Google lets the linked file be the right size when it is stored in Google Drive.

I have had a bad reaction to the COVID booster. So, I am slow to get around to the blogs, BOO! It's really hard to find information about bad reactions, really bad reactions. Our world is very weird lately. Where did I put my tinfoil hat?! But no, really, something isn't right in terms of information being pulled between the political forces. Talk about BOO! BOO POLITICS!

I can't believe how close Halloween is.

NOTE: Added this morning. I had J&J first months ago. It went kaput. So, I took Moderna. I had one of those weird reactions. Arm got big and nasty blisters all around it and very hot. Felt horrible all over and had a fever. Doc said to ice and compress my arm, take Tylenols, take Benadryl (itches horribly), rest. I am better this morning! Evidently if your immune system goes crazy, that's good? Who knows!

Kind regards,

Holly, The Olde Dame

  1. Thanks for the banner!! And I hope the bad reaction to the vaccine is short lived ...that's not fun.

    1. Now, I'm curious. Same shot brand? Or did you mix?

    2. No, I mixed. Our area does not have J&J. I am glad, because J&J does not seem lasting. The doctor says my immune response is over the top but evidently that's good. I took the Moderna for a boost. The study done showed Moderna to give a huge boost compared to J&J and Pfizer. But -- who knows?

  2. Did you take the same brand you had originally? Husband and I just had our boosters and had no reaction at all. But it has been more than 8 months since the last vaccine too. Love your boo banner.

    1. No, I had to take a different brand, as J&J isn't available in our area. I took Moderna. Doc said my immune response went wacky. I'm supposed to ice and compress my arm. It's working, because it is much smaller now.

  3. Love your boo banner, but boo on the shot reaction. Wondering if you had the same brand booster as original? I personally don't believe ANYTHING I hear on the news anymore. I try to carefully consider all options and pray and then make decisions. As of right now, I don't plan to get the booster. They will have to convince me that it works first. I hope you feel better really soon. I know I just realized that Halloween is Sunday and I don't have any candy yet. Will have to send hubby to find some since I am not ready to go out shopping just yet, but I do feel better than I did yesterday, so that's progress! Take care and feel better soon. (((hugs))) and boo hoo!!!

    1. I will continue to pray and pray some more, for your continued recovery! Please rest; I know that's hard for you, but REST! Ha ha bloggie "doctors" giving you all sorts of advice, I'm sure! I took a different brand, as J&J is not available here and it doesn't seem too good anyway. I took Moderna and my immune system went all wild and silly. But - it's all good! Yes, let God put it in your heart about what to do. Much more reliable than all the "information" we hear!

  6. Just imagine how awful the real illness would be is the way I coped with my reaction to the vaccine. I haven't had the booster yet, but will soon.

    1. Right! The actual illness is so terrible! According to those who had it.

  7. And I hope you are feeling better today, as Sandra said.

  8. Happy Halloween. I'm sorry that you had such a time with your immunizations. I had Moderna and no side effects. I guess everyone is different.

    1. I was surprised at the side effects! But it's worth it.

  9. Hope you are feeling better soon. I have that kind of reaction to many vaccines. The two shingles shots I had last year were a doozy! Red, itchy, swollen arm and so sore I could hardly use it.

    1. I look like that kind of crab that has one really strong big arm and one kind of weak skinny arm! Ouch! Sorry the vaccines are doing that to you1

  10. Hope you are feeling better. I had the Moderna vaccine and the weiredest thing after taking the first one. Eight days after getting the vaccine my arm swelled and turned red and itched. Then immediately went away. After taking the second vaccine, I woke up feeling awful, like having the flu. That went away by early afternoon. I haven't had the booster yet.

    1. Oh wow, that IS weird! And to happen 8 days after the shot, too - I hope it does not happen again after the booster.

  11. Sorry to read about this dear Holly...and hoping you are back to your sweet, not swollen or itchy, self soon. Glad the ice is helping. Yes, the information war is, unfortunately, very real and I fear there are more "casualties" of it than we will ever really know. The whole thing about messing with one's immune system is very concerning to on with immune "issues" such as me...but you already know many of my thoughts in that regard. Prayers for a complete and swift recovery for you. ~Robin~

  12. Holly, I hope by now your symptoms are lessoning and you are feeling much better. Of course it is hard to find information about adverse reactions. They are not being honest with us and do not want us to know the truth.
    Sweet BOO banner.

  13. I was surprised at the side effects, too. Different than last time.

  14. Thanks for the BOO banner. However, I am sorry to read about your effect with the Covid booster. I had the J and J, too and was told I could get the booster when it came to my city. So far, I haven't seen where it's been offered here, but I was told to NOT mix them, so I won't, especially after reading the mess you went through. Get better soon, dear Holly.

    1. Elizabeth, they told me TO mix them! They said Moderna was the one that boosted J&J the most. They do not even offer J&J here at all! Don't let my weird effect dissuade you if you want a booster! I always get the side effects, never the benefit, that's what I said to my doctor!

  17. I'm a believer in the immune system. Hope your reaction is healing.Nasty stuff, truth is not being told, there is an agenda. Take care dear "fren".
